By Subscription (ABS)
You’ve
probably seen the Nina Haggerty Centre - but do
you know who we are and what we do?
We are an arts centre
for adults with developmental disabilities, supporting over 130
different artists. By providing people with an
opportunity to change their personal narratives from stories
about disability into a story about individual creativity and
expression,
the centre changes lives everyday. We give a person who often
spends most of their life being told what to do and how to do
it the opportunity to become a part
of a collective
of artists like them and use a studio where they become the authority
on what to make and how to make it. The
Nina Haggerty Centre for the Arts is an essential component providing
real quality of life and helping these artists develop their
voices, giving their communities and families a new opportunity
to appreciate
who they are.
Our collective
members are supported by seven practicing professional artists
and over 10 volunteers. With the support
of the Nina
Haggerty Centre of the Arts (NHCA) our artists have travelled
and exhibited
their work in Calgary, Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal, Brazil, the
Art Gallery of Alberta, local festivals & libraries.
How can you support these local emerging artists?
Art By Subscription
(ABS) is your low-cost opportunity to add unique visual art to
your workplace and offer critical financial
support
to an arts centre that supports this vibrant collective of
outsider artists. ABS is about building relationships
between you and our collective. We will adapt your subscription
to meet
your needs; such as room or wall size and colour, and the number
the space
requires. A
subscription to ABS gives you:
- One to three pieces of framed
original art of your choice.
- One-on-one
consultation for art selection and placement
at your location with the Centre’s
artistic director, Paul
Freeman, MFA. Paul will assess your space,
and assemble
a portfolio
of available
work for you to select from, alternately
you and Paul can browse through the NHCA archive.
Your art will be custom
framed, matted,
and installed to suit your space and
compliment your corporate branding.
- Refresh your selections: new work can be brought
to you every three months.
- A plaque recognising your generous
support of NHCA for your walls; showing citizens and other businesses
in the
capital
city region
that you support people and the arts.
- Additionally
we recognise you with visual representation
inside our front doors, on our
website, at our AGM, and at
our annual
fundraising gala: Nina’s Cake Walk.
- Your
company will be recognized in our monthly newsletter
Nina News, available
on our website and is distributed
to national media, MP’s, MLA’s and
regional politicians, and foundations and boards.
As
decor your subscription is 100% tax deductable, individuals & family
subscribers will receive a charitable tax receipt.
An annual subscription is $1,500.00; additionally we offer
the opportunity
to purchase multiple
subscriptions at a reduced rate.
