PETER KOLMATYCKI
Peter was born in Lac La Biche, Alberta. He has been a resident of Edmonton for fifty years; he finds it a quiet city with people who are "good to you." He enjoys going shopping and watching funny movies, as well as visiting his mother, who lives in the country.
Peter's media of choice are painting and clay. He often paints scenes that recall rural Alberta: wagons and cars parked on roads outside houses that sit under expansive skies, all in bright shades of blue, yellow, orange, green, and pink. He sometimes paints pictures he finds in books; other times he works with images from his own imagination. Among his favourite clay pieces are a sky-blue and white bowl, and a tall grey vase. Peter has enjoyed the unique artistic opportunities that the Nina Haggerty Centre offers, and he plans to "stick with it" for as long as he can.
